Ultimately, you still have to get points on the board and with 16 from their eight league games so far, I am sure the fans in south Wales will be more than happy.
Much was expected of County, despite the fact they suffered major disappointment in last season; splay-offs, where they were beaten by eventual winners Coventry City.
Manager Kevin Nolan was given a heft war chest to make them take that next step, but after a dismal start, which yielded one point from their opening five league games, Nolan was given the boot by County owner Alan Hardy.
Defensively, they are conceding far too many goals — 24 in eight league games — which is by far the worst record in the division.
Northampton are yet to win at home so far this campaign and have collected only six points form eight games in the process. That said, their sole win came at high-flying Colchester United, which perhaps illustrates the unpredictable nature of the division more than anything else, but at home, it is a far different story.
It is far too early in the season still to talk about six-pointers, but with the Cobblers at home to fellow strugglers Notts County this weekend, neither side will want to lose this one.
Macclesfield were surprise champions of the National League back in May, but they have found the step up to League Two a tough one to make.
The Silkmen ended last season ten points clear of Tranmere Rovers at the top of the National League table, but they are yet to win in League Two since their promotion and already look like a team destined for a season of struggle.
They have lost all four away games so far — one of three teams to do so along with Notts County and Morecambe — and along with County, they are the only team in League Two still searching for their first win.
At first, it seemed more a case of bad luck than anything else. Swindon scored two stoppage time penalties on the opening day of the season to overturn a deficit, while Cheltenham struck five minutes from time to earn a draw at Moss Rose back in August and Lincoln bagged a late winner to win on Saturday.
The worry for Macc though is that they are average conceding two goals a game at present, in all competitions and with an attack that has managed only 13 goals, it is again clear to see where the problems lie.
